Amazon, as one of the e-commerce giants, announced on April 23rd the launch of a new delivery option in Brazil. The company now allows customers to pick up their online purchases at Pickup Points nationwide. Currently, the service has been established in 532 locations across different states in Brazil, with plans to expand to over 3000 by the end of the year.
This new initiative, named "Amazon Pickup Points" (Pontos de Retirada Amazon), aims to provide a more convenient service for e-commerce users residing in remote areas of Brazil, as well as cater to consumers who are unable to receive packages at home or in their apartments. These Pickup Points are set up in collaboration with stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and other partner locations.
Mariana Grottera, the Customer Experience Director for Amazon Brazil, stated that this initiative is part of the company's expansion plans for logistics services in Brazil. Users simply need to select qualifying items during the shopping process and choose "Pickup" as the delivery method on the product page or in the shopping cart, and the system will display the specific addresses of the nearest available Pickup Points.
According to sources, this service was developed with the assistance of the logistics transport company Jadlog, which had previously offered similar services in Brazil. Amazon mentioned that all participating partner stores have received specialized training for this new feature.
