Data released by the Brazilian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Anfavea) shows that in February this year, Brazilian automakers collectively produced 217,400 vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 14.6% and a month-on-month increase of 23.8%. This statistic covers light passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses, reaching the highest level since February 2019.

According to Zhongjin's understanding, compared to 2024, part of the reason for this strong growth is due to last year's Brazilian Carnival being held in February, causing car factories to shut down. The cumulative car production for January and February this year amounted to 392,900 vehicles, reflecting a 14.8% year-on-year increase. Anfavea predicts that the total car production for 2025 will grow by 7.8%, reaching 2.75 million vehicles.

In February this year, new car sales in Brazil reached 185,000 units, marking an 11.9% year-on-year increase and an 8% month-on-month increase. The cumulative sales for the first two months amounted to 356,200 units, showing a 9% growth compared to the same period last year. Car exports saw a 56.4% year-on-year increase and a 67.4% month-on-month increase in February. Additionally, the Brazilian automotive industry added 528 new jobs in February, with a total of 108,700 employees currently engaged in car manufacturing.

According to data from Autoinsights, a survey agency under the Brazilian vehicle sales website Webmotors, searches for Chinese brand cars in Brazil increased by 51.4% from March 2024 to March 2025. BYD, CAOA Chery, Great Wall Motors, and JAC Motors are the top four most searched Chinese car brands. CAOA Chery has the highest search volume share, followed by BYD, Great Wall Motors, and JAC Motors. BYD has the fastest growing search volume, followed by Great Wall Motors, CAOA Chery, and JAC Motors.

Marina, Chief Product Officer at Webmotors, mentioned that investments by Chinese car brands in products and localized production have sparked widespread interest among Brazilians. Additionally, the cost-effectiveness of these brands' vehicle models has attracted many Brazilian consumers.
